Winter is Coming.
But that’s OK because we harvest some of our prettiest, most flavorful produce during the darkest, coldest time of year. Sign up for your share today!
Red Planet has always offered a lot of great produce during the cold months, grown with a system of row covers and unheated high tunnels. You can secure a steady supply of these Winter veggies today by signing up for a share in the 2017-2018 Winter CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).
How the CSA works
Members pay in advance to secure a weekly share of various crops from our farm this Winter. Once we receive payment, you’ll receive email confirming your membership plus regular updates on pickup dates, times and locations.
We always have weekly pickup locations in both Providence and at our farm in Johnston. Although this Winter’s specific schedule is still to be determined, we know that the Early Winter CSA be starting the week before Thanksgiving and finishing up around the New Year. Then we fire it all back up again come March!
Two Share Types Are Available:
EARLY WINTER SHARE (7 weeks): $175
In mid-November through early January, our wintertime CSA offers up piles of fresh spinach, arugula, kale, mustards, collards, bok choi, lettuce, radishes, scallions, fresh herbs, broccoli, plus our Fall-harvested storage crops like carrots, turnips, potatoes, and winter squash.
FULL WINTER SHARE (14 weeks): $320
After a much-needed mid-winter break, our CSA traditionally starts up again in early March to send you into Spring with seven more weeks of greens, herbs and roots. This share option offers a bit of a deal for those who want to sign up all at once for both an Early and Late Winter CSA share.
